About the project
Journey to Johto brings Pokémon GO into live action, following a trainer into a world of Pokémon just beyond her doorstep.
The film promoted Pokémon GO Tour: Johto, Niantic’s global event on February 26, 2022. Celebrating the region introduced in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver, the event offered Gold and Silver experiences, encouraged trading between friends, and brought the region’s Pokémon together in one day of exploration.
That invitation to rediscover Johto shapes the film: an intimate moment of wonder grows into a larger world, connecting the nostalgia of the games with the possibility of finding adventure in your own surroundings.
